Frequently Asked Questions

When does the course start and finish?

Whenever you want! This is a completely self-paced online course - you decide when you start and when you finish.

And you can always come back for a refresher on any of the topics covered at a later date.

How long does the course take?

This is a bit tricky to answer as it depends on what projects you decide to tackle and how much time you dedicate to it each week. But it's a 4 module course and we estimate that you can complete it in 2-3 hours a week over 4 weeks.

What do I need for the course?

There are projects and practical activities through-out the course, though you can choose which ones you complete.

The third module focuses on maker technologies and electronics so the projects require some additional components to complete.

There's a list of components used for the maker technologies projects listed on the 'What you need' page. You can either buy these yourself or you can get them as part of your course package.

If you're not sure yet, you can always start the course now and then get the components once you reach that section.

I'm new to making, will I be able to complete the course?

Sure! The course is designed for beginners as well as those with a bit of maker experience who want to improve their skills and knowledge. There's no assumed knowledge so we explain the topics right from the beginning.

And, if you run into problems or have questions, there's real time support available from our trainers.
